It is with great love and respect for all the artists and art exhibited at Tilton Gallery since it opened in September 1983 that we feel privileged to present In Tribute to Jack Tilton: A Selection from 35 Years, opening March 22nd and running through April 28th, 2018.
This exhibition celebrates the artists who have shaped the wide-ranging, multicultural and global viewpoint of the gallery since its founding and commemorates Jack's love for art and adventurous eye. Jack always had an eye for artists who push boundaries and work on the cutting edge of contemporary art. This exhibition looks at the gallery's history and focuses, with a few exceptions, on artists Jack showed early in their careers and who continue to make work with the same vision and passion today. All have had at least one solo show with the gallery. Through this selection of works, we celebrate Jack's legacy and look forward to continuing this vital forum as we work with our present and future artists. In Tribute to Jack Tilton: A Selection from 35 Years is accompanied by a publication listing all Tilton Gallery exhibitions to date.
